A new study ranked Florida as the #1 state for great daytime and nighttime activities, including restaurants, theme parks and festivals.
TAMPA, Fla. – "Fun" can be defined in many ways, but one study reveals that Americans can collectively agree on certain states that are considered more fun than others.
A new study from WalletHub revealed that Florida is ranked number 1 among all 50 states across 26 key indicators of what people view as a good time, ranging from daytime activities to nightlife, while also considering cost-effective options.
Some common activities included in the key indicators included restaurants, amusement parks and music festivals. With Florida having the third-most attractions per capita, according to the study, it's no surprise the state ranked so high.
Florida had a total score of 65.51, with California following closely behind with a score of 65.14. The Sunshine State ranked number 2 in the entertainment and recreation category and claimed the third spot for nightlife.
Beating out Florida in the entertainment and recreation category was California. Nevada ranked first in the nightlife category, with New York right behind.

The total score calculated considered other factors such as weather, beach quality, fitness centers, variety of the arts, scenic views, number of attractions, golf courses and country clubs, nightlife options, casinos and "access to bars."
The WalletHub measured the two key categories by allotting 80 points towards entertainment and recreation, and 20 points to nightlife to grade the states on a 100-point scale.
On the bottom of the list was West Virginia with a total score of 17.01. It ranked number 50 in entertainment and recreation, and 41 for nightlife.
